Lymphocytes
The share of your white cells that handle viruses and carry immune memory.
Unit %Typical adult range 20–45 %
What it is
The share of your white cells that handle viruses and carry immune memory.
Why it matters
They usually move in the opposite direction to neutrophils, so the two together say more about what kind of illness you had than the total count does.
Reading the number
A percentage, so a rise here can simply mean neutrophils fell. Values stay raised for weeks after a viral illness, which is normal and not a sign that it is still active.
What moves it

When to raise it
Worth discussing a value well outside the range that repeats.
